Songs to Love 27 October 2019 jp melville Oh lies of equality and sex monopolizing gender Take me on I bring songs to love Ambiguity, complementarity, duality, union Songs to love I bring. I know a poem is supposed to be beautiful, While lies are not, So to write of beautiful things like The ambiguity of love The complementarity of woman and man The duality of two that can only manifest as one The union that is never entente and always at play, I weep undermined by the lies of equality and sex As though the cognitive dissonance of false truths As though gender is a pre-determinant Are how we ought and only live And there is no beauty in them.
