Love Making Rise Again

Image
Love Making Rise Again 2000 and 2020 jp melville I step back four years, A memory where she touched me, My shoulder, Otherwise silence. It has rained today. Leaves of the salt stunted leaves mostly fallen. Yellowed in strange sickly way. As I am estranged from the woman with whom I bore children. Our intimacy passionless. We are technical in our communication. Needs of the children, necessities of the day. Love making long gone, Washed away with demands for speed and headaches and cold condoms. The earth’s rest is the rest we all seek. Time to sleep, time to awake, time to work, time to love in autumn’s splendour. My lust, my desire, seeking home in which to blossom. I know from those whom I have loved, made love to, shared. I know them still and they flower in their worlds. While mine is an absence growing vaster, bleaching sensation, insidious demise. Life is such a strange companion, with whom we joust, To which w...

Even My Wrath I Love

Image
Even My Wrath I Love 2014 jp melville I am conflict adverse. I am weak willed. I talk the talk. I am all about the spin. I show no willingness to talk. I make work the centre of my life. I make time management the focus. I have a hand in with lawyers. I prefer avoidance. I cannot face the week’s matters at hand. I am an ostrich with my head in the sand. I put my children first. You I treat as second class. You I fail to support in the minds of others. You I disrespect and the value of your work. You I remove from the centre. You I place as an obscure player. You I objectify. You I threaten with writing. E ven my wrath I love. "Now, make me a priority," she demands.

Two Pointing Two 11 february 2019 (or april 2011)   jp I sip on beer I draw on tobacco Exhale slowly Remembering for three hours then My memory takes just the moment Of my life Your life Snapshot A coral reef Holding hands yes holding hands yes holding hands… Below us fish small large blue! orange! green! pink! Schools watching us two bodies above Waving in rhythm Waves rock us gently Waving world of coral below Just a moment A snapshot Sea turtle! Two pairs of hands, two pointing Two holding hands, holding hands Yes.

= One

Image
= One 8 february 2019   jp Cumulus clouds building high up still in blue Catching setting sun tinge of orange tangerine Margaritas all afternoon Now a cigarette and cerveza Black long tailed bird it sings: “Oh wind in the palms In the tips of my feathers Whisper heavily, draw The waves beneath me Wash me to their rhythm”. In the distant humid haze A white cruise ship Ghost like passes to the north One ship One thousand souls Passing distant from this beach sand and wave swash dancing about my feet: Distant from all of us Distant from you and me Distant from the boy we see who learns to swim In the waves of an eternal sea. So we sat in the sand I kissed the salt on your skin Your loins wet while we talked Of surgery and software and bureaucracies and wars Of all the things that are nothing Knowing our hands are here empty and no longer play no cards. We found solace in the small gard...

Azure Oceans and Forgetfulness

Image
Azure Oceans and Forgetfulness 21 april 2011 jp I love her azure oceans The seas she takes me to forgetfulness Five children Tear gas Strike across my face and Adoration I cannot believe this heaven For me All this she has brought to me. How do I believe this moment I sit upgraded to ocean view Hotel coral and turquoise blue This is some hour in the cooling afternoon Young lime trees and royal palms their green verdure And music, what… The Doors I hear, I see, I float from a pear shaped pool Where from this vantage point Your breasts pressed wet to my chest Your fingers in my ears Your margarita brought to my lips Where from this vantage point Beyond the burnt orange blossoms of the flame trees Beyond the gold green pistils of the crowning palms Beyond the liquid diamond blue waters in which we float… An azure sea blends deep our magnetic pool, breaking waves in the distance ...
