No Palpable Limitations
old new july 2019
jp melville

in the thai dark seashore night side waves gently lapping to our feet
i whispered of my gal back home in canada laura
dina said

no boundaries
no beginning no end
she will leave you dina said
no palpable limitations

no longer the property of tradition or family
alone worlds of independence
we create our own infinite worlds dina said
no palpable limitations

i phone home my mother cries
my sister is the same she burbles
too frightening the endless space dina says
no palpable limitations

a moment of silence breathed a moment
i am not fine you should have seen me as a happy girl
long time ago gone through shit to get to where I am now
no way i’m letting go of this dream dina said

and she turned and smiled at me mona lisa
no palpable limitations
