How Other Would I Love You Fi

Ears perked, the wild calls
Never heard behind our concrete walls
The pacing takes your beast only back
To metal bars, to retrace your track.

You gad without aim relentlessly
Spurred forward by muscle
With endless pent energy
Tingling across cell walls.

A tail flits sideways and then up
To balance each step restrained
Neck slung low, watching
Carrying each pad silently, alert, ahead.

You peer forward then to the side
Dark ebony liquid eyes glistening
Beckoning preternaturally beyond where there's no understanding yet
Searching for a feeling.

Your breath comes measured
Moist nostrils flare slowly, chest swells
Breathing deeply gently fall away, easy
Calming nerves of steel.

Then the gloss black brown of your oiled flank
Swims before my eyes as you turn away to repeat the endless cycle of your hunt,
Disappearing in your caged darkness,
Blood pounds coursing through veins loins yours and mine
A burning vengeful, rancoured force.

How other would I love you, Fi?
